The high school's principal, Mrs. Hodge (guest star Julia Duffy), calls Reba and Brock into her office to give them a brochure on an "alternative" school for pregnant mothers, called Hollyhouse, that she feels Cheyenne should attend. When Reba returns to say that Cheyenne's decision is to stay in her regular high school the principal makes it clear that this wasn't a request. When Reba insists that Cheyenne be allowed to stay, the principal suspends the pregnant teen for three weeks, enough time to ruin her grades.

Van has finally moved some of his stuff (that his parents thoughtfully threw out on their front lawn for him) into the room he shares with Cheyenne. Unfortunately, most of it's either in bad taste or just downright unacceptable (like the Dallas Cowboys' cheerleaders poster). But when Cheyenne doesn't object, Reba can't understand why she wouldn't tell Van how she really feels.

Cheyenne is experiencing morning sickness for the first time and Van is tired of her vomiting. Reba suspects that a neighbor does not want her son hanging out at Reba's house with Jake because of all the objectionable things that go on.

After being named player of the week, Van begs Reba to host the pre-game dinner for the football team since his family won't even talk to him. When she finally gives in, he and Cheyenne are so excited she can't help but look forward to it... that is, until Brock and Barbra Jean arrive with the "bible" for team pre-game dinners.

Reba's kitchen garbage disposal is on the blink again and she refuses to call Brock to fix it like he used to do when he still lived at home. She tries to fix the disposal herself but only makes it worse. Giving in, she calls a handyman. Bill (Greg Evigan — " B.J. and the Bear") takes a look under her sink and finds all the of the "patches" that Brock has made over the years.

Cheyenne and Reba argue over whether or not Cheyenne should do laundry and grocery shopping. Cheyenne returns from "grocery shopping" with no bags, but an application for an apartment that she and Van found. The only problem is they don't have the money to support themselves. Cheyenne asks Reba and Brock for money and they turn her down. She then tells Van to ask his parents.

What Reba didn't want to hear: Kyra has forsaken her clarinet. Reba suspects there's more to the story than Kyra saying she's grown out of her old instrument. Van returns from school and announces that he's failed his history mid-term.

Reba's best friend Lori Ann (Park Overall) shows up at the door and announces that she's moving back to town. They recall their crazy single days and Lori Ann announces that now they're both divorced (probably the third time for her), it's time they hit the town.

Reba's having a decadent lunch with Lori Ann after a day of shopping and offers to pay, claiming it's a celebration since her divorce is final in a month. The waitress comes back to table to say that her credit card has been declined. When Reba gets home and calls the credit card company to report her card number stolen, she finds out that someone has been on a spree, spending $4,000 on a diamond tiara and $175 at a religious gift shop.

Reba's parents (guest stars Barry Corbin, Northern Exposure and Dorothy Lyman, The Bold and the Beautiful) are celebrating their 46th wedding anniversary. They're taking a vacation and on the way they plan on stopping by Reba's to see the family.

Reba announces at breakfast that she has a new position as a substitute teacher at the high school. Cheyenne is mortified that her mother's going to be around, but Reba assures her that she put Brock through dental school by teaching and she's always intended to go back to it.

Cheyenne and Van are going to get an ultrasound that will tell them the sex of their baby. Brock arrives and announces that his father John D. has died. Apparently he was on the golf course when a swan kept interrupting his putting. He took a swing at the swan and had a heart attack. It's clear that Brock and his father weren't very close and he begs Reba to help him with funeral arrangements.

When Reba receives her final divorce papers, Lori Ann persuades her to get back into action and start dating. Lori Ann runs through her list of eligible men on her palm pilot and digs up Reba's former boyfriend from college, Parker Reynolds. Reba can't remember why she ever broke up with him and agrees to see him. On the first date she is reminded of why. He is a lousy kisser and there are no sparks between them. Kyra convinces Jake that Parker is gong to be the "new Daddy" and that Reba will be changing his name or even worse, give him away! Reba lets Parker down easy for the second time and out of respect lets him know that he is a lousy kisser and she feels nothing for him.

Barbra Jean is finally going to have her dream wedding to Brock. There's just one problem: a case of the pre-wedding jitters has hit the bride and she turns to Reba for help. BJ wants Reba's blessing for her marriage to Brock and for the wedding itself. Eventually Reba consents to BJ's request because she knows that marrying Brock is the right thing for Brock to do. What about the bridesmaids? Kyra doesn't want any part of her father's wedding, especially in the silly dress that BJ picked out, but Reba convinces her to go on with the show.

Van is named the football "player of the year" and the only thing that would make his moment complete is to have his parents there. Reba tries to convince the Montgomery's to mend the rift with their son over his marriage to Cheyenne. Van's mom Sue attends the awards ceremony, and being so moved by her son's sentiments, she smothers him with attention. This causes Cheyenne to get upset over Van's new mama's boy behavior, especially when Sue leaves her husband and moves in with Reba. Reba encourages Van to cut the apron strings.

An incident involving a baby doll arises when Reba agrees to be Cheyenne's substitute in Lamaze class and she finds out that Brock and Barbara Jean are in the same class. When Reba hits Brock with a plastic baby he ends up in the hospital, but Reba finds out when he (Brock) confesses that Barbara Jean accidentally smashed his right foot with the baby crib as they moved it in the nursery. 
18 18 "She Works Hard for Their Money" Gail Mancuso Chris Atwood April 19, 2002 (2002-04-19)
Reba throws a baby shower for Cheyenne. She warns Brock to get the kids something practical, rather than the big screen TV he had planned on buying. At the end of the shower Reba gives Cheyenne a quilt she spent the last 8 months making out of Cheyenne's old baby clothes. Then Brock walks in and hands Cheyenne the keys to a brand new (well, used) car. Reba gets upset because they had a deal with their kids: they get a new car when they can pay for half. Cheyenne and Van need to pay for their half of the car before they can use it. Cheyenne starts doing work around the house and Van takes a job at a pizza place. When Van gets promoted to pizza delivery driver, Reba has to do the driving since Van doesn't technically have a car yet. Exhausted from essentially taking on Van's job, Reba cuts the kids a check for their half of the car and calls it a baby shower gift. When they run out to sit in their new/used car, Brock questions her change of heart. Reba explains that she just got credit for giving the kids the car that Brock bought for them, and rips up the check.

Both Barbra Jean and Cheyenne are due to have their babies in the next few weeks. Brock is canceling his annual camping trip because he promised BJ that he'd be there when she went into labor. The University of Southern California is courting Van for their football team. Brock is happy with the idea but Reba wants Van and Cheyenne to go to the University of Houston so they stay nearby. When Reba finds out that a recruiter from USC is on his way, she convinces Brock to go on his camping trip anyway so he's not around to encourage Van to go to school all the way in California. During the recruiter's visit, Cheyenne feels what she thinks are labor pains. The whole family, including Barbra Jean, trots off to the hospital just to be sure. Cheyenne's not in labor, but suddenly Barbra Jean is – and where's Brock? Reba feels guilty for sending Brock away, so she treks into the woods to find him. Van and Cheyenne decide to stay in town and go to the University of Houston so they can be near their family and Barbra Jean has a baby boy. His name is Henry Charles Jesus Hart. 
20 20 "The King and I" Amanda Bearse Gary H. Miller May 3, 2002 (2002-05-03)
Cheyenne and Van are nominated for Prom Queen and King. Everyone's surprised by the students overlooking Cheyenne's pregnancy and nominating her anyway. Cheyenne's so excited because she feels like did before she was pregnant. Van finds out that the mean but beautiful cheerleader will most likely win Queen and, worried about how much it'll hurt Cheyenne, he tries to fix it. He convinces all the dorky kids in school to actually vote in the first place and vote for Cheyenne. In return, he'll invite them to a pre-prom party at Reba's house. Van and Cheyenne win and, after the party, head to the prom. The nasty cheerleader walks by and comments on why Cheyenne really won - Van's popularity. Upset, Cheyenne refuses to enter the dance. Back at home, Cheyenne and Van make up and dance together in Reba's living room. 
21 21 "Up a Tree House with a Paddle" Amanda Bearse Robert Peacock May 10, 2002 (2002-05-10)
Brock has once again fallen back on a promise he made to Jake by missing a soccer game. Jake scored his first goal (okay, so it was on his own team) and Brock missed it. Feeling guilty because he's spending so much of his time helping with the baby and keeping his dental practice going, Brock promises Jake he'll finally build that tree house in the backyard they've been talking about. Reba warns Brock not to make another promise he can't keep. Brock shows up one day with a huge box containing all the parts to the tree house and promises he'll put it together. As Jake gets impatient waiting for his tree house, Reba decides to rope Van into helping her build it. They manage to put it together, if a bit lopsided. Brock promises to spend the first night in the tree house with Jake. While they're outside, Barbra Jean comes over in a panic because she can't get the baby to sleep. Reba ends up looking after little Henry when BJ falls asleep. Brock decides he can't have Reba clean up his messes anymore and gets ready to take BJ home. Jake's upset that Brock has broken another promise. Brock explains he's trying to figure out how to manage everything and little Henry needs him right now. But, he's doing the best he can. Jake accepts this and ends up spending the night in the tree house with Van. 
22 22 "It Ain't Over Till the Redhead Sings" Amanda Bearse Allison M. Gibson May 10, 2002 (2002-05-10)
In the first-season finale, Cheyenne goes into labor during her graduation ceremony. Reba has flashback moments in Cheyenne's life. The first is when Cheyenne was about to begin high school and she needed school supplies. She went with girlfriends and Van. The second flashback was Cheyenne's first day of Kindergarten. She didn't want to go and then Reba told her she looked beautiful. The last flashback occurs when Reba was in labor with Cheyenne.

However, her plans suddenly fall short when Van injures himself, suspending his scholarship and losing his off-campus housing, forcing the Montgomery family back into Reba's home.

With finances tight, Reba sets out to find a job but quickly learns that her many years of experience as a mother don't transfer over into the job field. When Cheyenne and Van happily announce that they've applied for food stamps, a very frustrated Reba swallows her pride and takes Brock up on his offer to give her a job in his dental office.

Reba sets aside her pride and accepts a job reporting to Barbra Jean in Brock's dental office. As if things couldn't get any worse, she also finds herself counseling Brock after Barbra Jean complains to Reba that Brock is neglecting her. Meanwhile, Cheyenne goes back to college and Van is left to play Mr. Mom at home with the baby.

Attending an out-of-town funeral for Reba's college boyfriend, Reba and Brock take a walk down memory lane but are overwhelmed by feelings of guilt over the fact that Reba broke up with her boyfriend to run away with Brock. Back at home, Barbra Jean worries about Reba and Brock being alone together; and Cheyenne and Van get power hungry when they're left in charge of Kyra and Jake. Reba sings in the episode's final moments.

After Van and Cheyenne reconcile with Van's parents, Reba feels threatened by the extravagant gifts they shower on baby Elizabeth, including Van's parents giving Elizabeth a pony. Meanwhile, Cheyenne has difficulty adjusting to life now that Van has returned to the football team and has little time to spend with her.

Back at the home front, Brock and Van decide to install an alarm system to protect the family, but make the mistake of allowing Jake to create the "secret" password.

Reba needs some additional help for Jake's school auction, having come to the conclusion that she can't do it alone for another year. When Brock hears her dilemma, he makes her think she wants to work with him, when in all actuality, Reba ends up working with Barbara Jean. Near the end of the episode, Reba confesses that, as much as she'd like herself and others to believe it, Barbara Jean is not a "dingbat". Meanwhile, Cheyenne is overcome with jealousy when Van's private football lessons are the hit of the auction with women lined up to place their bids.

After a near-death experience, Reba decides it's time to put her personal matters in order and draw up a will. However, Reba goes off the deep end when she accidentally discovers that Cheyenne and Van have asked Brock and Barbara Jean to be Elizabeth's guardians in the event that something happens to them.

Kyra's fine grades in social studies have earned her an invitation to study in England for the summer, but when Cheyenne announces that she must attend summer school to remain a full-time student, Reba discovers that her financial situation will only allow her to assist one of the girls. And it seems like good news when Brock and Barbra Jean announce that they are moving, until Reba finds out that the house they plan to buy is just around the corner.

Upon hearing the news, Reba is completely devastated, while Cheyenne and Van immediately start making plans to use Kyra's room as a nursery.

Part 1: Kyra's decision to move in with Brock and Barbara Jean leaves Reba reeling while the rest of the family tries to sort out their feelings of hurt, anger, and guilt. A series of flashbacks revisits the turbulent milestones in the family history that led them to this point including when Barbara Jean first meets the Hart family, where we find out Brock used to find her really annoying and Reba thought she was nice.

Part 2: Cheyenne and Van go to Brock and Barbara Jean's new house to talk to Kyra, and it's flashback time. The first one talks about Cheyenne's pregancy test which was revealed by Jake in the pilot episode, and the second one revealed how Reba and Brock got divorced.

Barbara Jean becomes suspicious about Kyra's secretiveness and convinces Reba to hack in to Kyra's e-mail account. Barbara Jean and Reba discover that Kyra is planning to go to an unsupervised party with a boy. Brock, Barbara Jean, and Reba all want to prevent Kyra from making the same mistake as Cheyenne so they stake out the party. 
52 6 "Calling the Pot Brock" Will Mackenzie Matt Berry October 10, 2003 (2003-10-10)
When Kyra asks Brock if he ever smoked marijuana, he is caught off guard and claims he never did. Soon, Brock's agonized confession that he used to smoke pot shocks Barbara Jean, while Reba is proud to say that she never used drugs. Meanwhile, Cheyenne makes a confession to Van about her own brush with the drug world.

Reba finally decides to clean up Kyra's room and send the stuff to her new house. Kyra sees this and suddenly becomes very secretive to Reba. Barbara Jean invites a counselor (Martin Mull) to help Brock and her communicate better. The rest of the family, excluding Jake, joins in on the session at Reba's house. Van feels that Cheyenne thinks he is incapable as a good father.

Reba convinces Barbara Jean her house is haunted by the previous owner, but the joke wears thin when Barbara Jean moves in with her. After a "ghost-ridding" ceremony, Reba finds out that after all this time Barbra Jean thinks she stole Brock from her.

Kyra and Barbara Jean hide a stray cat in the attic so Brock won't have an allergic reaction to the animal, but it turns out that Barbara Jean and Cheyenne are the ones who are really allergic to cats. Meanwhile, Reba thinks Jake likes spending time at Brock and Barbra Jean's house than hers.

Reba's mad when Van and Cheyenne go out of town for a football game in Dallas they leave Elizabeth with BJ. It doesn't help that BJ tells Reba that she once lost Henry at the mall. When she tells her that she's bringing the kids to the zoo, Reba goes with her thinking that BJ will be so tired that she'll want Reba to take the kids. After the zoo, Reba's the one who is tired. When Reba offers to take the kids BJ's worried that Reba will fall asleep after she fell asleep once while watching Elizabeth. They get into a huge argument and Reba ends up keeping Elizabeth. Later Reba and Brock have a discussion where she tells him she may actually like BJ. Later BJ comes over giddy because of what Reba said.

Van & Cheyenne decide it's time to become more independent, so they go apartment shopping. They find the perfect place but they don't have enough money. They ask Reba to co-sign and she refuses. They forge her signature on the lease only to be turned down due to Reba's poor credit. Brock breaks down to Reba about all the stuff he's done and the people he has hurt and they embrace in a tearful hug only to be seen by Barbara Jean. Reba confronts Barbra Jean after she tells Kyra that she caught the two of them in the bed. She tells Barbara Jean that Brock loves her and she has no reason to worry. Brock comes home to talk to Barbara Jean, but first asks Barbara Jean if he could first talk to Reba for a minute. Barbara Jean tells Brock that this better be an important minute and that he better figure everything out as she stomps out of the room. Reba tries to convince Brock to run after her and tell her that it wasn't a mistake that he left Reba for Barbara Jean. Brock then tells Reba that he believes it was a mistake...

Brock wants to explain himself but Reba wants to hear and also doesn't want to hear it. Barbra Jean bursts in and tells them she is not going to let the two of them decide her life. She argues with Reba on who is going to leave Brock first. Kyra tells Van and Cheyenne that Barbra Jean caught Brock and Reba in bed. Cheyenne tells Reba that they shouldn't get back together cause Reba has become such a strong person and she is so much happier since she had divorced from Brock. Reba goes back to tell Brock that it wouldn't be smart for the two of them to get back together even though Brock didn't want that anyway. He admits that he needs to talk to Barbra Jean because he still loves her and wants to work it out. Barbra Jean tells Reba that she has sat and thought about how her inspiration would handle it. "WWRD - What would Reba do?" Reba tells her she needs to do what she feels right. Barbra Jean decides she is going to kick him out. Barbra Jean blurts this news out to Cheyenne and Van and then leaves, they both decide to go over to the their house to watch it happen only to find that Barbra Jean hadn't shown up yet. They tell Kyra what is going to happen right when Brock walks in and almost overhears it. They try not to tell him but he follows them back to Reba's house where he confronts Reba and demands she tells him what they know. Reba lets him in on the news right when Kyra walks in and tells him that Barbra Jean is home and wants to talk to him. We end with Brock coming back to Reba's after being kicked out by Barbra Jean. Reba tells him that he better go look for a cheap motel.

Reba tells Kyra to come home, but Kyra says she needs to stay with Barbra Jean to help her get through the separation.

Lori Ann cancels her visit to fly out and see Reba, choosing instead to go on vacation with her new boyfriend. Van reaching the next season's negotiations realizes he won't get the amount he wants nor deserves if he doesn't hire an agent. He ends up finding the best agent, but she would like to do an evaluation of his family before she decides to take him on. Sadie (Wendie Malick) arrives at the Hart house, but everyone says foolish things to try to impress her, and Reba is really the only one she connects with. Reba tells Sadie how her "girlfriend" skipped out on her and she feels lonely. Sadie tells Reba that she feels the same way, and reveals that she is lesbian. She asks Reba out on a date, because Van accidentally told the agent that Reba was "supergay." Reba not wanting to hurt Van's chance of a getting this great agent goes along with the lie but later confesses. Van comes home late after having a few drinks with his buddies and is feeling a little frisky, but climbs into the wrong bed. Reba wakes and says she has a headache. The next morning he says that his friends are happy for what he has accomplished on their football team and that's why they took him out to celebrate. Reba, Cheyenne and Barbra Jean all decide to give him a surprise party to show him that they are proud of him too. Reba gets satellite hooked up, Barbra Jean makes a cake, and Cheyenne prepares a speech. After the speech Van blurts out that he has been traded to Denver and Cheyenne freaks out. Brock chases after Van and Reba goes after Cheyenne. Kyra tries to talk sense into Brock and Barbra Jean. She says they can't keep arguing. So they start to talk civilly to each other. Reba says the same thing that Kyra says to Van about moving away and leaving his family for football. Van and Cheyenne try to talk things out but Van walks away saying that he has to do this.

Brock is becoming lonely in the condo all by himself so he begins to hang around Reba's house more often, sometimes without Reba's knowledge. Cheyenne is also becoming lonely with Van being gone almost a week up in Denver. Reba and Brock try to tell her that Van is probably just as upset in Denver without her there only to find out when Van comes home that he is having a blast and has made tons of friends. Brock and Barbara Jean begin going to therapy with Dr. Baker (Patrick Duffy) where they realize that Reba is one of the main problems in their relationship. Dr. Baker asks to speak with Reba where he confronts Reba and Brock and asks if they still have feelings for each other. They both contemplate the question before Barbara Jean walks in and interrupts before they can answer.

Meanwhile, Cheyenne accompanies Van to Denver for the first time expecting to find his new apartment in complete disarray. However, much to her disappointment, Van's apartment is in immaculate condition and he is clearly relishing in his newfound independence.

Van comes home from Denver with a butt injury. After much joking by the family, Van retreats to his room with his donut ring. Reba and Cheyenne go to the doctor with Van to take X-rays. The doctor tells Van that his injury is fine but he has a rare spine disease that most sports players develop but it also permanently restricts them from playing. Van freaks out because football is all he has ever known. He is relieved though when Denver gives him the buy out check for a hundred grand. Not knowing what to do career wise he starts spending the money recklessly by buying everyone in the family nice presents. Reba confronts him about why the sudden change of heart. Van tells her that he misses feeling like the hero he was playing pro football. Reba wants to put a stop to it but Van buys her the best present of all and suddenly Reba forgets what she why she came to counsel Van.

Van is bored by not working and decides to make up for lost time by playing every other sport. He doesn't want to care for Elizabeth while Cheyenne is in school so he hires a nanny. Cheyenne is stretching herself to the limit with school because she thinks she has to be the breadwinner now. Barbra Jean is lonely and has a talk with Reba asking her to ask Brock to move back in. Reba laughs and suggests getting a dog. Brock in the meantime comes to Reba also and asks to see if Barbra Jean is ready for him to come back. Barbra Jean has a surprise for Reba and Brock which was not the surprise either of them were expecting...a little "Brock". The nanny is working out just fine for Van by cleaning everything and teaching him and Jake Spanish, but it's not sitting well for Reba. The nanny doesn't believe she is "working for Reba".

Barbra Jean confesses to Reba that she's attracted to her new marriage therapist. Reba tells her to go talk to him about it. Van and Cheyenne convince Reba to go with Barbra Jean to talk to Dr. Morgan so nothing happens. Barbra Jean gets all giddy while talking to Dr. Morgan and tells him she's attracted to him. Dr. Morgan explains why she's attracted to him and then transfers her and Brock to another therapist. Meanwhile Reba is very attracted to Dr. Morgan also and she asks him out. Cheyenne and Van find out that Reba is going out with Dr. Morgan and tells her to tell Barbra Jean because she is unaware of their date. After much discussion Reba finally goes out on an interesting date with Dr. Morgan (guest-starred by James Denton).

When Reba decides to pursue a career in real estate after losing her current job, Brock reluctantly agrees to let Reba handle the sale of his precious condo. Unfortunately, the situation gets a little sticky when Reba receives a great offer, but Brock refuses to sell, validating Barbra Jean's concern that Brock is holding on to his bachelor pad as a security blanket. Meanwhile, Van begrudgingly chaperones Kyra so she can perform with her band at a club, but Van quickly changes his tune when he sees real talent in Kyra and offers to manage the band.

Cheyenne who is feeling strain on her marriage with Van decides to set up a play date for Elizabeth not knowing that the father of this play date believes this new play date means something more. The father returns the flowers but they end up in Van's hands where he reads the note believing the flowers and note are for him. Meanwhile, Van's addiction of online poker attracts and hooks Reba who ends up talking with a man in the chat room who she is beating badly. They both end up really interested in each other until Reba finds out this man lives across the street and is someone she knows: Brock.

Wise Kyra is on to Reba, so she trades phones with Cheyenne, leading to Reba and Barbra Jean catching Cheyenne on a secret trip to a Karaoke bar. Reba convinces Cheyenne that she should share her feelings with Van. All is well as they go to leave the bar but not without a special duet between Reba and Barbra Jean.

Brock not spending enough time with Jake decides to coach a football team on which Jake will try out for. Van, being emotional, doesn't want to because of memories of him with his dad. Barbra Jean, having played football as a girl and later coaching a women's prison team, decides to coach Jake with Reba's help. When Jake finds out that he might be cut, he doesn't think Brock will still love him. Van finally agrees to help out and Jake makes the team – but not for long as he's banned for being too aggressive.

Reba, inspecting Van's collection of business wardrobe, finds a bottle of booze in the closet. Van, knowing it is not his, lies to Reba and says it is. Cheyenne comes in where Van confronts her on the bottle.

Reba, not only being a mother-in-law but also a boss suggests that Van stops his drinking and go to an AA meeting. Van is furious and demands that Cheyenne tell her parents the truth. Cheyenne decides she will get help and goes to a AA meeting where she comes back excited that she is an alcoholic, blurting out her news to the rest of the family. Reba as the supportive mother decides no one will drink to help Cheyenne. Meanwhile, Kyra and her band are invited to perform at a USO event for soldiers leaving for Iraq. As the family secretly sneaks wine and beer around, Cheyenne is promoting her growth as a non-alcoholic and frowns upon her "using days". Reba later catches Cheyenne having a glass of wine and questions her on it. Cheyenne reveals that her life has been hell for the past year and alcohol is the only thing that has been helping her and she is scared and doesn't know what to do. Reba tells her that she is not alone and we end with a tearful hug.

Meanwhile, Brock lectures Kyra and Jake on the dangers of smoking, but that doesn't stop him from secretly lighting up.

To try to bring Van to God, they drag him to Reverend Parks, who tells Reba and Barbra Jean that he can't help the people who don't want help. Meanwhile, finding out they're having a boy, Van and Cheyenne have to find a way to break the promise Cheyenne made when she was younger to name her first son Brock.

Meanwhile, Van sees his father in himself as he gets fired for his temperament while coaching Jake's lousy soccer team with Jake being the worst player.

The Series Finale. When Van's poor home improvement skills cause a small fire in their home, Reba allows Van and Cheyenne to stay with her until they get things back in order. Meanwhile, Barbra Jean turns down an out-of-state promotion to make things work with Brock. With everyone at a happy state in their lives, Reba realizes she is not unhappy—she was lucky to be caught in the middle of the craziest, most wonderful family possible. They all realize they had a crazy six years, but made it through because "they're survivors." Reba even announces that she considers Barbra Jean as her best friend. At the end of the episode, a family photo is taken and shown, then the picture from the first episode is shown. During the montage, "I'm a Survivor" plays as the audience applauds.
